BGF part of the High-Level Policy Talk on "Coal Regions in Transition and the Energy Community”

Natolin, Warsaw, 13 September 2019 - Balkan Green Foundation was part of the High-Level Policy Talk on Coal Regions in Transition and the Energy Community, an event attended also by more than 80 representatives of all important stakeholders. The event was co-organized by the European Commission, World Bank, the Energy Community Secretariat (with the support of the EU4Energy Governance project) and College of Europe under the auspices of the COP24 Polish Presidency.

Balkan Green Foundation's (BGF) Program Manager, Rinora Gojani represented BGF's work on energy transition in Kosovo and the Western Balkans, during the panel discussion emphasizing the perspectives of key stakeholders in coal regions on what they see as the top priorities in implementing energy transitions in their coal regions.

The launch event brought together Ministers and Deputy Ministers, mayors and other representatives of local governments from coal regions, industry, NGOs, social partners and academia from the Energy Community and the European Union. Lively and fruitful discussions indicated how much such an initiative is needed and set the standards for the follow-up.
