Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) is a regional organization established to advocate and promote sustainable development in the Western Balkans, specifically concentrating on a number of key topics such as sustainable economic development, environmental protection, energy development, and climate change.

Balkan Green Foundation is looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team.

Project information:

‘Kosovo Green Action’ is supported by the World Bank through the GPSA grant and as a project it engages diverse stakeholders in collaborative social accountability on climate and energy-related priorities outlined in the EU-endorsed Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. The project aligns with Green Agenda’s key pillars through activities that improve stakeholders' access to information, good governance, accountability and transparency of government institutions and empowerment of youth, while boosting key climate actions.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

● Oversees the overall implementation of the project, including progress with the annual plan and accompanying log frame & budget;
● Coordinates the project activities and services as well as the implementation of certain activities;
● Monitors the project if it is implemented in accordance with donor requirements and ensures coordination with all beneficiaries in the implementation;
● Ensures that the project achieves its targets as foreseen with overall and specific objectives, outcomes and outputs indicators;
● Ensures timely conduct of project activities;
● Prepares and updates work plan monthly, quarterly and annually in the form of reports, in cooperation with partners, and ensures timely reporting to the donor;
● Informs the donor timely of any event likely to affect or delay the implementation of the project;
● Ensures that the official records and documents are accordingly maintained and that project documents and implementation are in harmony with the World Banks rules and guidelines, national legislation, and international best practices;
● Responsible for supplying all documents and information to the donor, in particular in relation to narrative reports and requests for payments;
● Has relevant knowledge and information on EU Green Deal and Green Agenda for Western Balkans;
● Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.


Requirements / Essential Skills / Attributes

● University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, or a similar field (preferred degree related to energy or environmental policy);
● Previous work experience in similar positions preferably within civil society organizations;
● Proven experience in project cycle implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation;
● Strong management skills, including the ability to provide strategic guidance, and technical oversight, build strong teams and develop work plans;
● Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with the team and ability to work independently and in the team;
● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
● Self-driven and able to deliver results with minimum supervision;
● Excellent command of English, including both written and verbal;
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
