Job Vacancy: Senior Researcher

Balkan Green Foundation (BGF) is a regional initiative established to advocate and promote sustainable development in the Western Balkans, specifically concentrating on several key topics such as sustainable economic development, environmental protection, energy development, and climate change.

Balkan Green Foundation is looking for a Senior Researcher to join the team.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Identify policy issues, conduct research, consultations and analysis;
• Conduct background policy research and analysis to support existing projects as well as proposals for new bodies of work; synthesize research findings to identify and recommend best practices;
• Prepare and coordinate briefing material, policy papers, reports, speaking notes, correspondence, and making recommendations for consideration on current issues;
• Write high-quality research proposals, assist with one-pagers and topic briefs to support the team’s work; draft talking points and presentations for external audiences;
• Contribute to the BGF team’s ongoing programs of work and the development and implementation of new research agendas;
• Actively disseminate key findings and messages through formal presentations, informal dialogues, event organization and participation, social media and traditional media etc.;
• Scope out, build and sustain relationships and strategic partnerships with partners, donors and other stakeholders to foster collaboration;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Essential Skills / Attributes

• BA/MA degree in Social Sciences (preferably related to energy policy);
• Proven work experience in a similar role (preferably in the civil society sector);
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with the team and ability to work independently and in the team;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• Self-driven and able to deliver results with minimum supervision;
• Excellent command of English and Albanian, including both written and verbal;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and knowledge of statistics and database programs;
• Public speaking skills.
