In a momentous collaboration, Balkan Green Foundation (BGF), alongside Open Data Kosovo and Lëvizja Fol, proudly launched the 'Kosovo Green Action' project on November 30, supported by the World Bank through the GPSA grant. This groundbreaking three-year endeavour is poised to redefine the landscape by revolutionizing information access, fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, enhancing transparency, and fortifying accountability—all in the pursuit of a greener and more sustainable Kosovo.
At the project's kick-off, Dardan Sejdiu, Board Member at BGF, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the project's monumental significance for Kosovo. Fijona Kurshumliu, Project Coordinator at BGF, then unveiled the ambitious plans, ranging from youth capacity building and public official training to the installation of solar panels at a selected school—an embodiment of a comprehensive and forward-thinking strategy.
The event took an engaging turn with a dynamic panel discussion featuring key figures driving the green agenda:

The panel delved into the intricacies of Kosovo's commitment to the Green Agenda, unveiling a roadmap for harmonizing national legislation with EU standards. Notable achievements were highlighted, including the approval of targets for 2030, the Energy Strategy, and the draft law on Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
The event concluded with a collective vision for a sustainable Kosovo, as speakers expressed optimism despite challenges. As the 'Kosovo Green Action' project gains momentum, it emerges as a catalyst for positive change and a model for green initiatives.
The 'Kosovo Green Action' project is supported by the World Bank through the Global Partnership for Social Accountability - GPSA grant and is implemented by Balkan Green Foundation, Open Data Kosovo and Lëvizja FOL.
